About makesPDF

What is makesPDF?

makesPDF is a PDF rendering API built for AI agents, automation pipelines, and developers who need accessible, archive-grade PDFs. It converts Markdown or a compact template DSL into PDF/A-2A + PDF/UA-1 dual-compliant documents — validated against veraPDF on every release, sub-second renders, no AI in the hot path.

The service is purpose-built for the agent era: a skill file teaches Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or any AI assistant to author templates; a native MCP server lets agents call the API without any manual integration; and x402 pay-per-render lets wallet-based agents pay for each PDF with no account required.

Background

makesPDF grew out of fourteen years of building document-generation tooling. The current incarnation was designed from scratch for the post-LLM workflow: an AI assistant authors the template once, the API renders it thousands of times with fresh data. The underlying layout engine, font subsetter, and PDF writer are all custom-built for the Cloudflare Workers environment — no headless browser, no Node-only native modules, no external render farms.
