NotoSans gets a real italic
NotoSans templates finally have a real italic face — `font-style: italic` used to render upright, and every NotoSans bold run reported a missing-font warning. Both are fixed, and existing documents keep their layout.
font-style: italic on a font-family: "NotoSans" span now actually
slants. Before this, the render resolved the italic request to the upright
Regular and silently dropped the style — visible in six library templates,
including the notes under invoice-classic and the titles in
resume-traditional. Documents that use them will simply look right the
next time they render, with no template change needed.
NotoSans bold is tidier too: font-weight: bold draws the Bold face,
and the render no longer reports a font-not-registered layout warning for
it. Six library templates used to carry that warning on every
render while the output was already bold, so dashboards that counted
layout warnings get quieter without anything else changing.
Both faces come from the same family, so line spacing, cap height and overall look are unchanged — a paragraph mixing upright and italic text lays out with the same leading it had. One honest caveat: the italic is Noto Sans's newer 2.x release while the upright faces in makesPDF are 1.06, and Noto moved a block of symbols (arrows, box drawing, geometric shapes) and the Coptic letters out of the family in between. A character the italic does not carry is drawn upright from the family's own Regular — what it looked like before — rather than disappearing, and the per-character fallback still covers it. If you build documents full of Coptic in italic, tell us and we will look again.
